Causes Of Bad Breath

Literally speaking all humanbeings are badbreathres. Oral cavity contains millions of anaerobic bacteria like fusobacterium and actinomyces which acts on the protein of meals materials as well as putrifies them. This process results in the development of offenssive gases as hydrogen sulphide, methyl mescaptan, cadaverin, skatol, putrescine etc producing poor odor. If oral hygiene isn’t maintained properly all is going to suffer from bad breath. Most of us control this by daily brushing, tongue cleaning and gargling. After maintining cleanliness in the jaws a lot of people are afflicted by offenssive smell because of various causes which has to be diagnosed and taken care of properly.

Some typical reasons for bad breath.

One) Poor oral hygiene:

If advanced oral probiotics (read article) hygiene is not maintained properly the mouth gets the seat for countless bacteria which create offenssive gases by degrading the meals debris. Bad breath is severe in those who do not brush the teeth of theirs regularly and clean the mouth of theirs after every food. Snacks taken between meals can also take bad breath due to improper cleaning.

Badbreath is typical in almost all people in the morning on waking. During sleep there’s much less production of saliva.Saliva has got some antibacterial properties which help to preserve the mouth clean. Saliva conains oxygen molecules which is needed to make dental cavity cardiovascular. So the reduction in it’s amount during sleep makes a favourable condition for anaerobic bacteria.

Two) Food habits:

The principle root cause of bad smell is due to degradation of protein by the bacteria and hence virtually all food products high in protein favours halitosis. Meat, fish, milk products, eggs, cakes, nuts, pear and etc can cause bad breath. Several food articles are able to make certain type of smell which could be unpleasent. Raw onion is able to produce normal bad smell. It is said that an apple one day keeps a doctor away,a raw onion a day keeps everybody at bay. Eating groundnuts might also take bad smell. However if appropriate cleaning is done smell can be reduced regardless of the character of food. Irregularity in timing of meals may also produce bad breath. Little food articles taken in between the meals can also produce bad smell.

3) Biofilm:

There’s formation of a thin gluey coating called biofilm on oral mucosa as well as the tongue. This covering is thick on the posterior aspect of the tongue where countless gram negative bacteriae are observed. The thick coating on the tongue is generally linked with badbreath. Actually a slim biofilm is able to produce anaerobic condition favourable for bacterial proliferation.
