The flow pulsation of the positive displacement pump of the hydraulic system is generally 2 to 5 rps [12]. The flow pulsation is the time derivative of the movement of the pump piston in the cylinder defined as:

In this paper, the flow pulsation is defined as the frequency spectrum of the flow rate at the section of the each cycle of the piston in the cylinder. The rotational speed of the positive displacement pump is 10 to 20 r/s [13].

The piston reciprocates periodically in the cylinder. The piston travels in the cylinder along the axial direction. Therefore, the piston moving displacement, speed, and acceleration vary periodically with time.
